How it Works

Having a photograph restored is painless. If you have a digital file, you can follow the steps below. If you need a print or slide scanned, we can make arrangements to meet.

Submit your photo along with your name and type of service you want.

We’ll determine the cost of restoring your photo and send a quotation for your approval.

After we have your approval, we’ll start retouching your photo.

Complete payment for the work performed.

After payment, we’ll send you a link where you can download the finished photo.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a color cast correction and a full color restoration?

Color casts are corrected using adjustments applied to the entire image. This is a relatively simple process that produces a satisfactory result for most users who simply want the broadest correction at the lowest cost. When a photo has complex issues – dark spots, significant fading, moisture damage, color bleed, damage, or colors that appear unnatural or undesirable after a color cast correction, a full restoration is in order. In a full restoration, the retoucher makes thousands of corrections at magnified views to make the most of the original. The attention to detail is what creates the polished look of a photo restoration.

I’m confused about the pricing. Can you clarify?

Please feel free to email me your questions. Optionally, you can take a picture of your photo (i.e. with a phone camera) and send it to me along with your email. I’d be happy to provide an estimate. If the image you send is the actual file I would be working from, please indicate this. I’ll make sure it’s appropriate.

Can I drop off a photo to be retouched?

Yes. You can arrange a time to drop off your photo in person.

Can I scan my own photo?

Can I email a photo file?

Yes, I have a dropbox link on the Contact page. You can also send via email as long as your file does not exceed 20mb.

How long does it take?

Photo restorations require at least seven days, excluding weekends.

Do you offer rush service?

Yes. Rush service on full restorations is $100. Turn-around time is three days.

What is your satisfaction policy?

If you’re not completely satisfied with the service provided, let me know how I can better meet your expectations and I would be happy to make reasonable adjustments.
