Photo Restoration
Above: Source for restoration was a photograph of a 2×3 print. The copy was scanned at high resolution; numerous instances of scratches, dust, and wrinkles were retouched. Textures for coats, toques, scarves, pants, gloves, walls, etc. were recreated. Uneven exposures were evened out.
Above: Original 18 x 24″ photo was scanned in sections and composited together; initial tonal corrections; color cast correction; removal of scratches, embedded hair, and finger prints; numerous local color adjustments to improve detail, contrast, and color; local tonal corrections to improve depth and appearance of sharpness; finished with localized sharpening, contrast, brightness, and color grading.
